Phil Clark

Phil Clark (Chairman)

Phil is a highly experienced ‘C’ Level Business Executive in the automotive industry with an outstanding record of achievement and a capacity to deliver profitable high growth business outcomes. He has experience in all aspects of the auto industry with exceptional Leadership, Business Development, and Marketing & Strategic Planning Skills.

He has over 35 years of executive management experience gained with three world-renowned automotive companies in Volkswagen, Mazda and BMW. This experience spans the areas of General Management, Sales, Marketing, Network Development, Customer Service, Aftersales, Business Establishment & Development together with P+L responsibility and Board & Public Officer responsibilities.

Phil is a respected industry leader with a purposeful management style and a reputation for delivering results with an acute ability for identifying and developing talent.

Cathy Grant

Cathy Grant (Director)

Cathy is the Client Service cornerstone of Grant Day James, imparting her extensive knowledge of media and advertising strategies not only to clients but also the GDJ account service team.

Flexible, resourceful and friendly, Cathy has a genuine client focus, and can tailor insightful and effective media strategies to meet a range of budget and advertising needs. Her marketing qualifications have been strengthened over the past fifteen years in the ad industry by considerable exposure to an incredibly diverse range of challenges, from the smallest local campaigns to the most complex nationwide launches. Cath’s great talent lies in her ability to harness the most complex brief and bring all elements into focus.

Ben Day

Ben Day (Director)

A talented Art Director, Ben plays an integral role in the generation of concepts for Grant Day James. His long background in the industry has given him an intuitive understanding of what works and what doesn’t.

A true problem solver, Ben is an excellent resource when it comes to taking an idea and converting it into reality. Ben’s fluency in computer design and his in-depth knowledge of print processes and press advertising are underpinned by ‘old school’ talents in hand rendering. It’s a unique fusion of skills that provides him with the capacity to think outside the ‘computer’ square and bring ideas to life. Ben’s passion for visually distinctive design comes through in the inspiring results he continually draws from his creative team.

Peter James

Peter James (Director)

A copywriter by trade, Pete’s strength is his ability to get inside the brief with the client and nut out what needs to be communicated. His exposure to all forms of corporate and ad copywriting enables him to ‘change gear’ and meet every requirement.

Peter’s copywriting skills have extended across a range of media from press advertising, television and radio, to multimedia, point-of-sale, and general print work. Peter has a gift for tailoring the message to the intended audience and expressing it in a unique and memorable way. Since teaming up with Ben, the two have become a potent unit for ideas, capable of taking the most complicated briefs and turning them into exciting concepts within the tightest of deadlines.

Andrew Baker

Andrew Baker (Managing Director)

The innovator and driving force behind Myadbox, Andrew’s recent work has been devoted to the management, development and extension of its system capabilities and the growth of the business. Myadbox now proudly serves clients including Volkswagen Australia, Audi Australia, Toyota Australia, and Carlton United Breweries.

Andrew is now focused solely on driving Myadbox further, as it continues to expand its reach and affirm its reputation. He has a proven track record when it comes to implementing successful large-scale digital advertising solutions and products, and developing strong client relationships.

Russell Grant

Russell Grant (Managing Director)

A founding director of Grant Day James in 1995, Russell has been the key driver behind the financial management of the GDJ group. With year on year growth, in 2010 Russell took up the full time role of Financial Controller for the Group.

Russell is systematic and meticulous with detail, and is constantly challenging processes and efficiencies to provide quality creative, production, account and financial management for all campaigns and projects.
